OverviewBe part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Waste Data System Database Administrator and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and administer the database for the Waste Data System (WDS). This includes the installation, updates, and maintenance of the ORACLE database software; the development and application of scripts to support the WDS application; modification and maintenance of the database schemas and objects; configuration of the software and schemas; optimization and tuning of queries and database health; administration of access roles and grants; performing backup and restoration of the databases; and interfacing with customers and management to answer data queries.Minimum RequirementsThese requirements must be met to be considered for this posting. Uploaded resumes and completed applications are the means of determination.Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of relevant experience, orAssociate’s degree with nine (9) years of relevant experience, orHigh School Diploma or Equivalency with thirteen (13) years of relevant experience is required.Experience must include maintaining ORACLE databases.Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances.
