Maintenance - Track

Essential Functions Follow instructions as given by the supervisor.Operate equipment as indicated in the operator's manual and in a safe manner.Perform a daily pre-operative inspection of equipment.Attend and pass all health & safety and environmental training classes.Follow and obey all policies & procedures and rules & regulations.Maintain equipment daily and report ALL incidents, malfunctions and unsafe or unhealthy conditions to your supervisor.Additional duties may be assigned with or without notice, verbally or in writingResponsibilities:Racetrack:Prepare, maintain, and repair the racing surface (dirt, turf, or synthetic) before, during, and after racing and training hoursOperate and maintain track equipment such as harrows, tractors, water trucksMonitor track conditions and adjust surface composition, moisture, and depth to promote horse and rider safetyMaintain infield, rail systems, safety rails, fencing, and track markersRespond quickly to weather events to protect track integrityAssist during race days with inspections, emergency repairs, and coordination with racing officialsFollow all safety procedures and report hazards or equipment issuesPerform general groundskeeping duties as neededStable Area:Clean up around manure dumpstersClean out wash pad catch basinsStrip and clean stallsMaintain ditches for grade and water flowSweep roads and parking areaPaintGeneral grounds maintenance including grass cutting, litter pick-up etc.Facilitate snow removal as necessary.Dormitories:General clean up around buildingsKeep walks, patios, balconies clear of obstructions and cleanRemove trash on a daily basisFacilitate snow removal as necessary.Grandstand:Clean up parking lot litterAid with landscape and irrigationPaintMove materials, furniture and equipmentFacilitate snow removal as necessary.General cleanup around facilityPerimeter:General grounds maintenance including grass cutting, litter pick-up etc.Facilitate snow removal as necessary.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.Required Certification/License Must be able to obtain an Ohio Racing Commission LicenseEqual Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
