The Library Cataloging & Materials Processing Assistant will catalog materials using Library of Congress standards, pack and label items, and prepare materials for storage, re-shelving, or sale. This position is expected to work approximately 25 hours per week and supports a time-limited library organization project.Job DutiesRemove books and other library materials from shelvesCatalog materials using Library of Congress Classification (LCC) standardsVerify and update bibliographic recordsPack materials in boxesLabel boxes clearlySort and organize materialsMaintain inventory logsTransport materials within the facilityAssist in identifying duplicate or sale-eligible materialsOther duties as requiredMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent Basic computer skills Ability to organize and track materialsPreferred QualificationsExperience with library catalogingKnowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesKnowledge of library operations Strong attention to detail and organization Ability to perform accurate data entry Ability to work independently Good communication skillsThe intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of positions given this title and shall not be construed as a declaration of the total specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position.
