The Senior Business Data Analyst serves as a technical and analytical lead supporting enterprise‑level data integration, financial analytics, automation, and business intelligence initiatives. This role provides advanced expertise in transforming large, complex federal datasets into actionable insights that support audit readiness, operational performance, and leadership decision‑making. The analyst develops dashboards, automated tools, and analytic models that enhance data integrity, streamline financial processes, and strengthen organizational transparency and accountability.Key QualificationsBusiness Intelligence & Visualization, Automation & Process OptimizationDevelop advanced dashboards, scorecards, and interactive visualizations using Power BI, Google Suit/Studio, Tableau, Qlik, or similar tools.Build executive‑level reporting products that provide real‑time insights into financial performance, audit status, operational metrics, and risk indicators.Apply data storytelling techniques to present complex information in a clear, intuitive, and actionable format.Design, develop, and deploy automated tools using Python, R, SQL, UiPath, or robotic process automation (RPA) technologies.Replace manual reconciliation and reporting processes with automated workflows that improve efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance data integrity.Support digital transformation initiatives by identifying automation opportunities and developing scalable analytic solutions.Strong Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret complex datasets and deliver actionable insightsProficiency in Data Analytics and Data Modeling, with experience using advanced tools and methodologiesSolid understanding of Statistics and its application to business decision-makingEnterprise Data Analysis & IntegrationLead the extraction, transformation, validation, and integration of large datasets from multiple Department of War (DoW) financial and operational systems.Synthesize complex financial, audit, and operational data into unified analytic products that support enterprise‑wide decision‑making.Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across systems and reporting environments.Data Platform UtilizationUse DoW data platforms and reporting tools to extract, analyze, and validate financial and operational data.Support audit readiness, financial reporting, and leadership decision‑making by leveraging DoW system capabilities.Ensure alignment with DoW data governance, reporting structures, and system integration requirements.Financial Trend Analysis & Anomaly DetectionAnalyze large federal datasets to identify financial trends, anomalies, control gaps, and process inefficiencies.Support audit remediation, internal control assessments, and enterprise risk management through data‑driven insights.Provide recommendations to improve financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance.Stakeholder Engagement & CommunicationCommunicate complex analytical findings to non‑technical senior leaders in clear, concise, and actionable terms.Prepare briefings, dashboards, and narrative summaries that support strategic planning, audit reviews, and operational decision‑making.Collaborate with financial managers, auditors, IT teams, and program leadership to support mission objectives. Required QualificationsEight (8) or more years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or financial systems management.Five (5) or more years of experience using data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) to develop dashboards and executive‑level reports.Demonstrated experience developing and deploying automated tools using Python, R, SQL, Google Suit, UiPath, or bots to streamline financial reconciliation processes.Experience identifying financial trends, anomalies, and process efficiency opportunities within large federal datasets.Proficiency using Department of War (DoW) data platforms to synthesize data for audit and leadership decision‑making.Master’s degree in data science, Business Analytics, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience integrating financial audit data with operational metrics to create unified quality dashboards for enterprise risk monitoring.Certifications such as Certified Analytics Professional (CAP), Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Google GCP, UiPath Certified Professional, or similar credentials.Experience with GFEBS, DDRS, and other DoW financial systems referenced in the PWS.
