Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery. If you are passionate about providing exceptional animal care, we’d like to meet you.Responsibilities Triage pets as they arrive at the clinicInterview pet owners to obtain a patient historyTake vital signs and acquire blood samples Managing surgical patients from check-in to check-out, including surgery monitoring and recoveryAdminister medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clientsKeep accurate patient recordsRunning in-house IDEXX Lab Equipment Proficient in PhlebotomyCephalicSaphenousJugularPlacing IV CathetersFollowing up with clients after visits or procedures by phone or text and relaying pertinent information to doctorsDaily choresCleaningMaintaining all laboratory equipmentAssisting with hospitalized patientsCleaning kennelsCleaning floorsRestraintOther hospital duties that may be involved (we do have a cleaning crew twice weekly)QualificationsPrevious experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role, Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT - preferred by not required)Knowledge of animal care and handlingExcellent communication skills Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environmentPatience and a love for animalsSchedule 10-hour shiftsDay shiftNo nightsOvertime (occasionally)Weekends as neededUsually every other SaturdayClosed Sunday's
