Program Director

Momentum Indoor Climbing inspires people of all ages to discover the joy of climbing through inclusive, community-driven experiences. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and energetic Program Director to lead programming across all Momentum locations.The Program Director is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational success of Momentum’s youth, adult, camp, adaptive, and yoga programs. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role oversees Program Managers and Regional Yoga Managers while supporting company-wide program growth, staff development, and operational excellence.This position is based in Holladay, Utah, and requires regular travel to Momentum locations.Roles And ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership and PlanningLead the strategic growth and operational success of Momentum’s youth, adult, camp, adaptive, and yoga programming across all locationsDrive program innovation and participant growth by identifying industry trends, assessing community needs, and implementing high-impact initiativesPartner with executive leadership and program managers to establish goals, review performance metrics, and support long-term business objectivesRepresent Momentum within the climbing industry and cultivate strategic partnerships and community relationshipsPeople Leadership and ManagementLead, mentor, and develop gym-specific Program Managers and Regional Yoga Managers while fostering a collaborative and accountable team cultureOversee hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management for program leadership staffSupport managers in developing strong operational systems, staff development practices, and participant experiencesHold managers accountable for operational standards, performance goals, and company policies Promote leadership growth, professional development, and consistent program standards across all locationsProgram Operations and AdministrationOversee the structure, quality, safety, and consistency of all Momentum programsCollaborate with managers to improve curriculum, staff training systems, operational tools, safety, and participant experiencesEnsure operational systems, scheduling platforms, registration tools, and program information remain accurate and effectiveMonitor program performance, financial metrics, and operational efficiency while identifying opportunities for improvementSupport major events, competitions, camps, and other company initiatives as neededFinancial OversightPartner with the Finance Director to manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and support sustainable program growthAssist managers in achieving enrollment, staffing, revenue, and operational goalsMarketing and CommunicationsPartner with the marketing team to support enrollment growth, participant retention, and community engagement across all programsEnsure consistent branding, communication, and online program information across all Momentum locationsRequirements And Physical DemandsExperience, Skills, and CertificationsMinimum 5 years of leadership and program management experience, preferably in climbing, recreation, fitness, or wellness industriesStrong passion for climbing and enthusiasm for the climbing community required; 5+ years of climbing experience preferredProven ability to lead, develop, and manage high-performing teams across multiple programs or locationsStrong financial and operational management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and strategic planningExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and operational details in a fast-paced environmentAbility to adapt quickly, reassess priorities, and effectively manage an evolving workloadStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, participants, families, and leadership teamsKnowledge of youth and adult climbing instruction, programming, and training best practices preferredPassion for teaching, mentorship, and creating positive climbing experiences for othersAbility to lead meetings, project updates, and cross-functional collaboration effectivelyHours and AvailabilityFull Time, Salaried Exempt (40+ hours per week)Schedule includes a combination of office work, facility visits, meetings, and on-site operational supportOccasional evening, weekend, after-hours, and urgent operational support requiredRegular travel to Momentum locations requiredAdditional travel may be required during new facility launches, major events, or strategic initiativesEnvironmental and Physical DemandsExtended periods of sitting or standing may be required in an office or meeting setting.Prolonged use of a computer and other office equipment, requiring hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.Physical ability to travel, which may include sitting for extended periods during flights, walking during site visits, and navigating various transportation modes.Comfortable working in a loud, high-energy environment on a regular basis Comfortable speaking in front of and providing instruction to large groupsComfortable working at height, moving up and down a climbing wall safelyContinuously stand and walk on unstable and uneven surfaces for long periods of timeAble to repeatedly lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs of weight on a regular basisAble to balance, kneel, pull, push, and grasp objects on a regular basisVisual acuity to assess fine details Compensation, Benefits, And Perks$95,000-$110,000 annual salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.Health insurance and 401(k) retirement savings plan (eligibility requirements apply)Paid time off (PTO) and holiday payComplimentary membership to all Momentum facilities20% discount on Momentum classes, programs, and retailAccess to outdoor industry pro-deals
