Medical Secretary - Evenings
The Medical Secretary's main schedule will be 2pm - 10pm Monday through Friday. Occasional day shifts may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Medical Secretary performs secretarial duties at the Health Center, which involves significant contact with parents and exposure to sensitive information which must remain confidential. Performs duties and must have the ability to initiate and determine appropriate priorities such that emergent matters are handled in a timely fashion.
The Medical Secretary schedules medical appointments for students, routes drivers for off campus medical appointments, administers pre-employment and worker's compensation drug screens for staff and maintains all applicable paperwork, schedules medical appointments for staff who have a worker's compensation claim as needed, performs data entry and files insurance claims, and when needed - assists with the Health Center Kitchen.
REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma/GED is required and one to three years of general office work with progressive levels of responsibility is also required. A Certified Nurse's Aide is preferred. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be computer proficient and skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams; must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work under pressure of many priorities and deadlines.
