Such other qualifications as the Board/Superintendent may deem appropriateReports: Director of Buildings and GroundsProvide for the general safety and welfare of all students, staff, and visitors to the school district.Patrol and monitor hallways, stairways, toilet facilities, outside facilities, and other public and unsupervised places of the school to ensure the safety and well-being of the students and staff and the security of the facility.Ensure a smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways, assisting students with on-time arrival to class and other locations in an orderly manner.Assist with the arrival and dismissal of students.Remove disruptive students from classes when needed.Assist the professional staff, police, and emergency personnel in handling emergencies or disruptive situations.Check-in and screen visitors through the district's background check system.Control entry into the building by challenging unauthorized visitors and escorting them to exits.Report any discipline infractions, unauthorized visitors, and acts of vandalism to the C.E.O. or her designee.Notify the building administration, police, and/or appropriate emergency personnel of any emergency, potentially dangerous, or unusual situations.Assist in the care of any injured staff or students.Immediately notify appropriate personnel of evidence of substance abuse, child abuse, child neglect, severe medical or social conditions, potential suicide or individuals appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.Participate in appropriate in-service and workshop programs.Maintain certification to carry a concealed weapon.Stop physical altercations between students or other individuals in order to protect the safety and security of all students and staff.Display ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and outside agencies associated with the school.Protect confidentiality of records and information about staff, and use discretion when sharing such information within legal confines.Adhere to federal, state, and local statutes and regulations, Illinois School Code, and Board of Education policies and procedures.Other duties as assigned.
