Product Development/Sourcing Manager

The Product Development & Sourcing Manager will oversee product development, sourcing, and supplier management for the company’s home textiles / softlines division. This role works closely with internal design and merchandising teams as well as overseas suppliers to ensure products are developed efficiently, meet quality standards, and achieve target cost objectives.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in product development, sourcing, and factory communication, and be proficient in speaking and writing Mandarin to effectively collaborate with overseas suppliers and manufacturing partners.ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary point of contact for global sourcing operations, coordinating with overseas offices, factories, and internal cross-functional teams.Manage the product development process from concept through sampling and production handoff, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to timelines.Work closely with design, merchandising, and product development teams to translate product concepts into manufacturable products.Monitor and expedite sample development and product revisions to meet development milestones and retail launch schedules.Utilize strong costing and negotiation skills to achieve financial targets for assigned product categories.Maintain and manage product cost updates, communicating effectively with overseas offices and suppliers regarding costing options and improvements.Partner with factories to refine product construction, materials, and manufacturing methods to achieve optimal cost and quality outcomes.Identify opportunities for cost engineering and value optimization through materials, construction, and packaging efficiencies.Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers and manufacturing partners based on quality, cost competitiveness, and production capability.Travel domestically and internationally to visit supplier partners, review production capabilities, and identify new sourcing opportunities.Coordinate development timelines to ensure products meet retailer milestone calendars and delivery schedules.Maintain strong working relationships with supplier partners to support long-term development and production success.RequirementsProven experience as a Product Development & Sourcing Manager within the home textile / softlines category.Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) to communicate effectively with overseas suppliers and manufacturing partners.Strong understanding of product costing, factory negotiations, and manufacturing processes.Experience working with mass retailers such as Walmart, Target, TJ Maxx, Costco, and similar accounts.Ability to manage multiple development projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
