We are rapidly expanding all areas of our organization.G&C Foods is currently looking for a professional and dynamic Transportation Coordinator located in Syracuse, NY.Location:Syracuse, NYSchedule: Sunday through Friday from 8:00 PM - 5:00 AMJob Summary:This position will assist in the daily customer service and administrative activities of the Transportation Department to ensure accurate and prompt delivery of service to our customers. This is a fast-paced job and often requires multitasking.Duties and Responsibilities:Provides driver support to drivers on dispatch/route/tractor/trailer issues during the nightEnsure drivers are leaving within 15 minutes of their dispatch time.Identify the reason for any late leave-outs.Check Drivers delivery status using electronic log system and update the Transportation/Dispatch Manager with all concernsSend late truck report to distribution list, contact affected customers, track and update as needed throughout the dayCommunicate with Sales, Purchasing, Customers, and Drivers concerning delivery appointment times, and ETABook hotel rooms for drivers as neededWork with Shipping/Welcome Center to identify which outside carriers have or have not checked inMonitor trailer temperature alarmsIdentify and correct any weight distribution problems with the trailersUse of single/double electric jack or walk behind as necessaryOptimize Routes in Multimode dispatch and update trailer numbers for all routesAdditional duties as assigned by manager or supervisorExperience and Education Required:High School Diploma or GED requiredBachelor's or associate degree in a related field preferredExperience using Microsoft products such as Word and Excel requiredWarehouse loading experience preferredExperience in the food industry is a plusExperience in transportation or logistics is a plusWhy Build Your Career at G&C Foods?At G&C, we believe exceptional people deserve exceptional rewards.
