Production Processor, Days
WorkSource is seeking Production Processors for a manufacturing facility in Perham, MN, for day shift. These individuals operate cooking equipment and extruding machines to prepare food ingredients or prepare products for further processing. The position requires lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds throughout a shift. Hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday and every other Saturday. Or Wednesday thru Friday and Every other SaturdayCompensation and Benefits include:Starting pay is $19.70/hourPlus $1 to $2.50 more for shift differentialInsurance options including medical, dental and visionWeekly paycheckContract-to-hire positionWorkSource is an employee-owned companyOperates cooking equipment:Tends or operates and controls equipment to cook ingredients or prepare products for further processingSets temperature, pressure, and time controlsStarts conveyers, machines, or pumpsTurns valves and start pumps to add ingredientsUses scales or measuring containersReads work orders, recipes, or formulas to determine cooking times and temperatures, and ingredient specificationsAdmits required amounts of water, steam, cooking oils, or compressed air into equipment, such as by opening water valves to cool mixtures to the desired consistencyPours, dumps, or loads prescribed quantities of ingredients or products into cooking equipmentActivates agitators and paddles to mix or stir ingredientsStops machines when ingredients are thoroughly mixedOperates auxiliary machines and equipment, such as grinders, canners, and molding presses, to prepare or further process productsTroubleshoots issues, making simple adjustments based on findingsMonitors production or manufacturing processes to ensure quality:Observes gauges, dials, and product characteristicsAdjusts controls to maintain appropriate temperature, pressure, and flow of ingredientsListens for malfunction alarmsShuts down equipment and notifies supervisors when necessaryCollects and examines product samples during production to test them for quality, color, consistency, viscosity, acidity, or specific gravityRecords production and tests data, such as processing steps, temperature and steam readings, cooking time, batches processed, and test resultsOrganizes, maintains and cleans the environment:Cleans, washes, and sterilizes equipment and cooking areaRemoves cooked material or products from equipmentInspects for defects, identifying what can be fixed internally and what will need to be fixed by maintenanceDocuments status of equipmentNotifies or signals other workers to operate equipment or when processing is completeEducation and Work Experience:High school education or GED equivalent; or six months related training and/or experience in a production or manufacturing environmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Interpersonal skillsCommunication skillsListening skillsOrganizational skillsComputer skillsKnowledge of techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsKnowledge of counting and basic mathAbility to perform math operations using units of weight measurementAbility to read and comprehend written materialAbility to listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentencesKnowledge, skills, and abilities consistent with the essential duties and responsibilitiesPhysical Requirements:Must be able to walk and stand for a prolonged period of timeMust be able to use hands, arms, and fingers to handle, feel, and reachMust be able to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawlMust be able to climb or balanceMust be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 poundsWorking Conditions include:Exposure to high temperaturesFumes or airborne particlesMoving mechanical parts and vibrationLoud noise levelAllergensWhy WorkSource?WorkSource is dedicated to improving the lives of our applicants and customers, one job at a time.
