To learn more, visit www.kippmiami.org.Job DescriptionHere's what you need to know:Our Teacher Aides are members of our school teams which support our instructional teammates by assisting both inside and outside of the classroom at key points throughout the school day and support with administrative tasks and special event set up so that our teachers can focus on supporting our students to achieve at the highest levels.We are seeking Teacher Aides to support students in grades 3-8, with most openings concentrated in our middle school classrooms.Here's what you'll be doing:Logistics and Operational SupportGrade level support including but not limited to attendance supports, grading support, bulletin boards, copies and lesson material preparationTier 1 tech support and inventory managementSupporting with the maintenance and upkeep of shared spacesLogistical support for student and family eventsClassroom organization including but not limited to seat sacks, cubbies, tech, classroom decor and supply managementCreation of family communications and flyersProvide support with family communicationStudent and Instructional SupportAssist with classroom management and creating an environment that is appropriate for learningAssist teachers with the planning, preparation, and implementation of differentiated instruction for individual students or groupsProvide support during culture blocks and whole school spaces such as breakfast, lunch, recess, free choice and dismissalStudent portfolio management and trackingAs job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties that are broadly in line with the above essential duties and responsibilities.QualificationsSKILLSProven written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skillsPossession of a passionate and loving attitude toward all childrenResponsiveness; Follow-up and follow-through with students, families, and faculty members is essentialSuperb customer service skills and love and support for families and childrenCommitment to do whatever it takes to ensure our teachers and students have what they need to be successfulABILITIESAbility to be flexible and adapt to changing prioritiesAbility to collaborate with team membersAbility to proactively problem solve; anticipate challenges before they occurAbility to identify inefficiencies and generate creative solutionsAbility to troubleshoot and manage high stress situations with a calm and positive demeanorPhysical RequirementsThe usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:On your feet in classrooms, cafeteria and outdoors.Occasionally moving boxes and restocking supplies as needed.Lifting and carrying of items of 10+ poundsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.Must Haves:Associate's Degree or a minimum of 48 university credit hoursPrevious experience working with children recommendedProficiency in Spanish and/or Creole recommendedAdditional InformationCompensation & Benefits
