If you thrive in fast-paced situations, and you are often skeptical of consensus, you will fit in well at Motive.About The RoleWe are seeking an entry-level Software Engineer to join our Core Product Team and help build the systems and features that power Motive’s platform for thousands of dealerships across North America. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and customer-facing teams to develop features that improve the dealer and consumer experience across our websites and internal tools. Expect to work on customer-facing product features, platform infrastructure, integrations with third-party services, and systems that support a rapidly growing multi-tenant platform.This role will report directly to our CTO and work closely with senior engineers across the Core Product organization. The ideal candidate learns quickly, approaches problems with curiosity and ownership, and is excited to contribute to a fast-moving engineering team. They should be comfortable working on both small iterative improvements and larger cross-functional initiatives while collaborating closely with stakeholders across the business.We are looking for someone who enjoys solving practical problems, values clean and maintainable systems, and wants to have a direct impact on the product experience for thousands of businesses and millions of consumers.In This Role, You Can Expect ToBuild new UI components and customize existing ones to provide flexibility without compromising on simplicityIntegrate with third party API’s for both backend and frontend use casesWork directly with internal and external stakeholders to manage projectsShape our core product to ensure scalability and great user experienceMove the business forward by delighting our customers and our internal teamsBuild robust integrations between Motive products, business systems, and third-party data sources to unlock speed and efficiencyWork in a small, elite, cross-functional, and dynamic engineering team where your contributions have an immediate and noticeable impactWe Are Looking For Someone Who Has/isAn intuition for good design1+ years of React experience1+ years of backend development experience (Ruby on Rails and/or Python preferred)Small startup experience (1-20 engineers)Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with great follow-throughWe would prefer candidates who have/are interested in the following:Experience working on consumer facing projectsCompensation: $90,000 to $110,000 in salary.Exact compensation will depend on experience and demonstrated proficiency during the interview processYour compensation will additionally include meaningful stock option compensationMotive contributes 100% of the cost of employees' health, dental, and vision insurance premiums.
