This position procures samples for dimensional inspection of aerospace parts to ensure conformity to customer drawing requirements.This position requires review of the customer drawing, measurement of the part using various types of calibration gages such as a micrometer, caliper, comparator, Keyence IM, drop gage, height gage, Go/No-Go gages, etc. Use of precision inspection tools and equipment, ability to read blueprints and procedures are required in the daily activities to ensure acceptance of product to specifications and requirements. Involvement in other inspections, such as, but not limited to, creating non-conforming material reports, receiving inspection and 3 party certificate of conformance review.Knowledge and Skills:Performing appropriate sampling plan per customer requirementsDimensional Inspection and AcceptanceVisual Inspection and AcceptanceReceiving Inspection and AcceptanceReview of 3 Party Certification of Compliance DocumentationSupporting Quality in the recall of gages and toolsReview of Manufacturing RouterPrepare quality documentation including but not limited to dimensional inspection reports and logbooks for product acceptancePrepare non-conformance reports for Quality and Engineering evaluationUse hand tooling such as micrometers, microscopes, calipers, and thread gagesUse sampling plans, drawings, work instructions, industry standards and specification to verify conformance of product acceptance.Other duties and/or responsibilities may be performed as part of cross-training or employee development plan.Basic computer skills for entering and accessing databases and spreadsheets,QualificationsBasic Qualifications:Three years related quality experience or training in accordance with the defined skills training matrix progression; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Prior experience in a Quality InspectorAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
