Junior Accountant
A leading University client is seeking a Junior Accountant to oversee student receivable accounts. This is a temporary position for 3-6 months and may extend based on the need. Apply today for immediate consideration!Title: Junior AccountantPay rate: $30/hrHours: Hybrid role, Monday through Friday, 8:30 - 4:30 pm, 3 days in the office, 2 days remote.Location: Piscataway NJDuration: 3-6 months, may extend depending upon the need.Duties include but not limited to:Provide professional-level support in reviewing, validating, and processing cash receipt of transactions and journal entries within the Oracle Financial General Ledger system.Review and approve cash receipt of journal entries, ensure reconciliation to deposit slips and bank reports, and return rejected entries with clear explanations for correction.Monitor designated general ledger accounts, process journal entries as needed (including ACH rejected refunds and Division 9 activity), and perform monthly account reconciliations such as Unearned Revenue and various student receivable accounts.Provide backup support for the daily review of the Nelnet refund file, validating accuracy, and canceling refunds as necessary.Support the broader team and organizational objectives by performing other related accounting and operational duties as assigned.Requirements:This role requires a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong attention to detail to ensure all transactions are accurately supported, properly recorded, and reconciled.Previous higher education experience in a plusAR experience is required.Oracle Financial General Ledger experienceMS Office savvy, professional, dependable and reliable.Pay Details: $30.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
