A rapidly growing biotechnology company in the alternative protein space is seeking a Contract Scientist to support its Research & Development team. This organization is focused on advancing innovative cell-based technologies aimed at transforming the future of food production.This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven team working at the intersection of cell biology, bioprocessing, and food innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute and optimize a variety of analytical assays including cell-based and molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, Western blotting, plate-based assays)Perform mammalian cell culture activities such as expansion, cryopreservation, and 3D culture systemsSupport cell line and media characterization efforts through experimental design and data generationPrepare reagents, media, and buffers for use in both small-scale and bioreactor-based systemsContribute to the development and refinement of analytical methods and workflowsMaintain accurate documentation and communicate results effectively with cross-functional teamsQualificationsMS or PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field2–4+ years of hands-on laboratory experience (industry experience preferred)Strong experience with mammalian cell culture and analytical instrumentationFamiliarity with 3D cell culture systems or organoid models is a plusExperience with molecular biology techniques (e.g., DNA/RNA/protein workflows, PCR, ELISA) is advantageousProficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Prism, JMP, or MinitabAbility to work independently in a fast-paced R&D environment while managing timelines effectivelyStrong communication and collaboration skills
