OVERALL POSITION FUNCTION
We are looking for an experienced, high-energy Manufacturing Operations Coordinator to join our
manufacturing management team. The ideal candidate has proven operations management and project
management experience and is interested in both analytical work and hands on involvement in production.
The right candidate will learn the Samscreen processes with an end goal of making production, logistics,
technical and quality decisions regarding methods, processes, and staff development. Additionally, you will
work with the Operations leadership, including the COO, to improve hiring and training practices,
manufacturing processes, logistics systems, and overall efficiency.
The right candidate needs strong operations experience and project management abilities, the ability to work
cooperatively with a network of peers, and a drive to contribute to measurable improvement in our key
performance metrics. They will be the owner of certain processes, and team member in others, and a
resource for other areas.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
Expected areas of focus are:
Coordinate recruiting efforts for production staff, including screening, onboarding, and tracking of
training and performance.
Manage shipping and packaging direct reports, with a primary focus on daily LTL shipments.
Coordinate with COO on implementation of plant wide programs on safety, attendance, training,
and overall activities of entire operation group.
As both an individual contributor and as a team member, implement plant wide Operations
projects in support of the annual Manufacturing Plan. These may be coordination of critical parts
inventories, implementation of area upgrades, conducting 5S or Kaizen events in areas of focus.
Understand and support the Planning functions in the company, with the ability to back up critical
roles in multiple functional areas in the shop.
Participate in auditing and editing of facility procedures. This will involve some technical writing
and creation of procedures, to templates defined by company standards.
Perform analysis of performance on key metrics, using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. This will
involve pulling data from our ERP system, and drawing conclusions from the data to support facility
improvements and goals.
Support implementation of budgeted goals for annual spending and area utilization targets.
Learn product and facility practices to support best quality practices in our facility and industry,
with the goal of troubleshooting internal issues in the future.
Troubleshoot production issues and identify root causes and corrective actions to improve output
and quality
Maintain and improve operational procedures and production documentation
Support ERP-driven production planning and job routing; utilize ERP tools and data mining for
process analysis and problem-solving
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives to drive
continuous improvement
Supporting essentially all operations functions as assigned, including scheduling, production,
maintenance, and engineering.
PERFORMANCE METRICS
Success is measured on:
Competence and mastery of assigned work tasks
Production Utilization and efficiency for the production and indirect labor areas.
Compliance with daily and weekly 5S goals
Completion of Continuous Improvement/Lean driven projects, and maintenance of existing work
standards
On time delivery for both the production area, and for contribution to all product lines.
Quality as measured in both customer returns and internal product scrap rates
Attendance and Punctuality. Leadership by example is a core element of success.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor or Associates degree in engineering or similar technical field.
3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or process improvement role
Experience in metalworking or high-mix, low-volume manufacturing preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable using ERP systems and data analysis tools
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Hands-on approach with the ability to coordinate across multiple departments and priorities.
Previous continuous improvement experience preferred.
Proficiency in quality control, managing budgets, and production costing.
Competence with computer-based administration, record-keeping, and procurement systems.
Ability to work independently under the Chief Operating Officer, and as part of a production team.
Availability to work extended hours to meet deadlines, when necessary.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Schedule is 1st shift, Monday to Friday, with potential of additional weekend/evening hours as needed.
