We are seeking dedicated, student-focused Academic Interventionists who are passionate about supporting academic growth, language development, and the success of all learners through targeted instruction and strong relationship-building.Our school culture is defined by academic excellence, a commitment to educating the whole child, and an inclusive environment that values and celebrates the diversity of our students, families, and staff.The English Language Development (ELD) Coordinator provides instructional leadership to support the academic and linguistic success of English Language Learners (ELLs) across the school system. This role ensures that instruction is inclusive, accessible, and aligned with federal and state requirements. The coordinator collaborates with teachers, administrators, and families to strengthen multilingual learner programming, deliver targeted professional development, and support continuous school improvement efforts.QualificationsDemonstrated leadership ability and strong professional presenceExperience working with English Language Learners (preferred)Valid Michigan teaching certificate with ESL or Bilingual endorsement (NS or Y endorsement required)Master's degree preferredKnowledge of a language other than English (preferred)Familiarity with effective ELL instructional strategies, including SIOP or Sheltered Instruction (preferred)Strong understanding of multilingual learner best practices and compliance requirementsEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and support the implementation of a comprehensive ELL program that meets the academic and linguistic needs of multilingual learners and their familiesCoordinate and/or administer WIDA screeners and other language proficiency assessments as requiredEnsure appropriate ELL accommodations and supports are implemented for standardized testingCollaborate with leadership and school teams to ensure translation and interpretation services are provided for familiesProvide ongoing professional development for staff on ESL strategies, accommodations, and modificationsParticipate in Student Services and School Improvement Teams to strengthen academic outcomes for ELL studentsAttend IEP and student support meetings for English Learners as neededBuild and maintain strong relationships with multilingual families and ensure consistent, meaningful communicationMonitor compliance with federal, state, and local ELL regulations and remain current on policy updatesEngage in ongoing professional learning and stay current on research and best practices in multilingual educationServe as an active member of the instructional leadership teamPerform other duties as assignedJ-18808-Ljbffr
