Registered Nurse - PCU - Travel Hermitage, TN 13 weeks Shift - Nights 7pm- 7am Unit Name: PCU Building: Cost Center: 630/633 General Information Unit Specifics: Number of Beds : 630 has 34 beds/ 633 has 25 Patient Ratios : 1:4 to 1:5 on days, 1:5 to 1:6 on nights Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS Dress Code: (Required uniform) Black Scrubs Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines. Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : 3 techs when full on 630 and 2 techs when full on 633 Type of equipment : bipaps, high flow o2, vapotherm, alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis. Wound vacs in conjunction with wound care Documentation system: Meditech Scheduling requirements: every other weekend requirement for contract, 3 12 hour shifts a week Floating policy: may have to float in between PCU units or float to med-surg floors Patient Experience requirements: hourly rounding on days, every 2 hour rounding on nights, AIDET and keeping up with communication boards on 7th floor. Dept 633 has tv communication boards. Hospital Specifics- Certifications: BLS, ACLS Hiring profile Requested Skill Set: Must have: Critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, cardiac drip, insulin drip and heparin drip experience. Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred and peripheral iv skills. Advanced skills needed: ACLS. Experience with bipaps, high flow 02 and multiple oxygen delivery systems. Experience with stroke and post cardiac cath care. Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred. Experience with tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes. Procedures performed on unit: Peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, dobhoff/NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes. Schedules are 4 weeks, and contract are required to work every other weekend. Utilize techs to care for the patients and assist in care. Most travelers extend after the first time on PCU.
