We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on Controller to serve as the financial backbone of our operations — a trusted partner to ownership who can manage the full spectrum of accounting, payroll, HR administration, and operational finance.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
Manage daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records across entities
Perform daily bank reconciliations and monitor bank fraud prevention controls
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports; run P&L statements and perform financial analysis
Prepare workpapers and support schedules for annual audits; coordinate year-end tax preparation with accountants
Prepare and file quarterly B&O taxes
Manage depreciation schedules and provide reporting information to outside accountants
Payroll & HR Administration
Process payroll, track PTO, and manage all related payroll reporting
Prepare and maintain new hire packets, onboarding documentation, and employee records
Coordinate annual health insurance renewals and manage other company insurance policies
Handle workers' compensation claims and auto accident claims; assist with HR-related administrative functions
Renew business licenses and maintain all compliance documentation
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Process vendor invoices and ensure timely, accurate payments; resolve invoice discrepancies
Supervise AR processes including invoicing, collections follow-up, and incoming payment tracking
Prepare bank deposits and maintain accurate records of subcontractor payments and associated documentation
Fleet & Operations Management
Maintain all records for company vehicles: insurance, E-Z Pass accounts, GPS tracking, and depreciation schedules
Serve as internal liaison for IT coordination and support
Support dispatch and broader operational administrative needs as they arise
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of accounting or financial management experience, preferably in construction or a closely related trade industry
Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop or Online and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel expertise and analytical skills essential)
Strong working knowledge of payroll processing, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with a high level of professionalism and discretion
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
Preferred
Experience with construction accounting and job costing
Familiarity with subcontractor compliance requirements and lien waiver processes
Prior experience in a family-owned or owner-operated business environment
CPA license is welcome but not required
Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
