TIG WelderThis role focuses on precision sheet metal TIG and MIG welding in a machine shop environment, producing high-quality assemblies to tight tolerances. You will interpret blueprints and weld symbols, set up and operate welding equipment, and collaborate closely with production, quality, and other departments to meet safety, quality, and delivery standards.ResponsibilitiesPerform precision sheet metal welding using TIG and MIG processes to build assemblies within specified tolerances.Read and interpret engineering prints, drawings, and weld symbols to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.Set up, operate, and adjust welding equipment and related tools to complete assigned jobs efficiently and safely.Collaborate with management, production control, quality, and other shop personnel to coordinate assignments and resolve welding or quality issues.Follow established welding procedures and best practices to maintain consistent quality and meet production requirements.Apply firm knowledge of welding safety practices and OSHA requirements to maintain a safe working environment.Work with sheet metal hardware such as PEM fasteners, Southco components, and Helicoils as required by the job.Support fabrication activities in a machine shop environment, including working with lathes and other equipment as needed.Maintain organized work areas, inspect completed welds for accuracy and quality, and make adjustments or repairs as necessary.Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance weld quality, efficiency, and safety.Essential SkillsAt least 5 years of experience with precision sheet metal welding.Proficiency in TIG welding for sheet metal applications.Proficiency in MIG welding for sheet metal applications.Strong ability to read and understand engineering prints, drawings, and weld symbols.Firm knowledge of welding safety practices and OSHA requirements.Experience working in a machine shop environment.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings to build assemblies within specified tolerances.Experience working with sheet metal hardware and manufacturers, including PEM fasteners, Southco components, and Helicoils.Effective communication skills to work with management, production control, quality, and other shop personnel.Ability to perform fabrication tasks and welding in a production environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with L-300 M lathe operation.Experience with machine programming and set-up in a machine shop environment.Familiarity with SolidWorks for reviewing or understanding part and assembly designs.Familiarity with Mastercam for supporting machining or fabrication processes.Knowledge of general fabrication processes in addition to welding.Ability to work effectively in English in a production environment.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from a comprehensive package that includes 100% employer-paid medical coverage through Kaiser for employees, with options to add family coverage through Aflac. You will work primarily on a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with an AWS schedule option of four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday. The environment involves working around welding and machining equipment, sheet metal fabrication processes, and inspection operations, with appropriate adherence to safety and OSHA requirements. Dress and personal protective equipment are consistent with a professional machine shop and welding environment, including suitable work attire and required safety gear.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of FREMONT, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
