Position Title: Database EngineerClearance Requirements: TS/SCI with CI Polygraph. Investigation or CV date within 5 yearsLocation: Reston, VA (DIA HQ) We have a Database Engineer opportunity to support the DIA/NIWC in Reston, VA. Successful candidate will own the architecture, design, implementation, and lifecycle management of complex data ecosystems spanning PostgreSQL (pgvector), Neo4j, and Elasticsearch across on-premise and cloud environments. Ensure systems are scalable, highly available, and optimized for both transactional and analytical workloads. This role combines responsibilities across database engineering, data engineering, DevOps, and security, requiring deep technical expertise and the ability to manage large-scale, mission-critical data systems independently. Duties and Responsibilities:• Database Administration and Management• Data Modeling and Development Support• Infrastructure and Automation Qualifications:• Education: BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.• 10+ years of experience as a Database Engineer or similar role.• IAT Level II (Data+, Security+ CE, Network+, CCSP, etc.)• Experience with object-relational, graph, and NoSQL databases • Strong proficiency with schema design, query optimization, security, and performance tuning.• Experience with data governance and data quality practices.• Experience with data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques and database design principles.• Experience with ETL tools and techniques.• Strong SQL skills and experience with query optimization.• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Shell.• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
