This position focuses on the valuation of forestland, vacant land, and recreational properties for private, institutional, conservation organizations, and government clients.Principal Duties Include:Perform inspections and appraisals of rural and forested propertiesAnalyze comparable sales and develop valuation modelsPrepare high-quality appraisal reportsWork directly with clients and senior appraisal staffTravel primarily within NY, PA, and WV, with occasional regional assignmentsPrincipal Requirements include:Certified General Real Estate Appraiser (active, in good standing)Ability to obtain reciprocal or temporary licenses in multiple statesStrong writing, analytical, and communication skillsWillingness to work outdoors and travel to remote propertiesExperience with forestland or recreational properties is a plus—but not requiredWhy FORECON:Competitive salary based on experience ($75,000 to $110,000)Medical insurance, life insurance, sick time, PTO, paid holidays401(k) with company matchOpportunity to specialize in unique rural and forestland appraisalsStable, respected firm with over 70 years of industry experienceA "Task and Duty Guide" for this position is available upon request.
