Assemble instrument components into complex workable systems as designed to accomplish stated results. Work from sketches, prints, or verbal instructions. May direct others. Basic Qualifications *Ability to obtain and maintain a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential badge. High school diploma or GED. Journeyman level qualifications required via one of the following criteria: Completion of a technical school and a minimum of three years of industry experience. Completion of an apprenticeship program with 8,100 documented hours in a recognized apprentice program and a minimum of three years of industry experience. Five years industry experience in related responsibilities/job requirements. Equivalent experience (e.g., military, industry) may be substituted for the 8,100 documented hours or any other industry experience requirements. Hanford Instrument Specialists who are not trained and qualified via a trade school program or equivalent military experience are qualified to perform specific tasks through demonstrating knowledge, skills, and abilities relevant to their assigned duties. Desired Qualifications *Equipment calibration experience. Troubleshoot various types of electronic equipment. Ability to read and apply technical instructions. Communicate with technical support from different vendors/manufacturers. Proficient with Microsoft Excel. Work with various equipment applications; changes to firmware/instrument configurations. Test and evaluate new equipment and manually program instruments. Ability to interface with customers. Ability to climb Met Towers (up to 400"). Be enrolled in the Commercial Motor Vehicle Program (CMV).
