This role emphasizes system requirements ownership, technical budget management, and verification closure across space vehicle and payload elements.You will contribute to architecting and executing space systems while working across subcontractors and internal engineering teams.The day-to-dayManage system and subsystem requirements, including decomposition and allocationOwn and maintain technical budgets for RF performance, power, mass, and dataPerform system and mission analyses using STK, MATLAB, or PythonSupport space system architecture development and trade studiesDefine and implement verification and validation activitiesEnsure traceability from mission objectives through requirements and verificationParticipate in major program reviews and technical interchange meetingsIdentify and manage system‑level risks and technical marginsWhat You'll NeedBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience5–8 years of systems engineering experience on space programsDemonstrated experience with requirements management and V&VPractical understanding of space system budgets and interfacesStrong analytical and documentation skillsUS Citizenship RequiredAbility to travel up to 10%What Will Help You On The JobExperience with RF, data, power, and mass budgetingExposure to system architecture developmentFamiliarity with MBSE methodologies and tools Salary range$120,500.00 - $190,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $149,500.00- $224,500.00/ annuallyAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
