Powered by Care.Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour DOEClassification: Non-ExemptEssential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.The Hydro Excavation Laborer I crews are responsible for going into residential and commercial areas working on underground utilities and working with their crew to complete tasks for the day.Roles And ResponsibilitiesAssists crew leader in construction, reconstruction and maintenance workAssists crew leader in construction, reconstruction and maintenance workAssists equipment operators by swamping, hand digging and locating underground obstructionsWorks with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, power actuated fasteners and other industry toolsSignals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materialsCleans and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazardsMaintains paperwork during the day including DVIR and driver’s logbookEnsures the truck has current licenses, tags, permits, and proof of insuranceAssisted with setup and breakdown of hydro vac trucks and job site safety per company protocols.Maintained and cleaned tools, equipment, and trucks to ensure safe and proper operation.Supported potholing, trenching, and daylighting operations using high-pressure water and vacuum systems.Followed detailed instructions to complete excavation work while avoiding damage to existing infrastructure.Adhered to OSHA and company safety standards, using appropriate PPE and hazard recognition.Worked in various weather conditions and job environments, including confined spaces and roadside projects.Communicated with team leaders and clients to ensure accurate completion of excavation tasks.Performed routine maintenance checks and reported equipment issues to supervisors promptly.Safely works within the traffic control and job site cleanup as needed to maintain safe working conditions.Performs other duties as assigned.Success FactorsA strong belief in ZERO- Being Safe 100% of the time is the expectation.  Alignment with company mission, vision, and values.  Strong team player with the ability to adapt to diverse team members. Ability to perform in a fast-paced work environment.  A high level of time management, accountability, and prioritization skills. Self-motivated, goal- oriented, and driven to accomplish department goals.  Ability to support a fast-paced, demanding work schedule; could include late evenings and/or weekends when requested.Willingness and ability to learn additional skills. Experience And EducationApproximately 1 year of experience in a laboring position in the utilities field.  High School Diploma or equivalent required   Additional Requirements/Licenses/CertificationsCandidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment.
