Warehouse Trailer Driver Hemlock - Fontana, CA 92337Overview Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00 HourlyPosition Type: Full TimeJob Shift: DayTravel Percentage: NoneDescription Position Summary: A yard goat's main role is to organize and reposition trailers to keep freight operations running smoothly.Essential Functions:Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting, or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks.Check conditions of trailers after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.Rank trailer landing gear up or down to safely secure vehicles.Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles, and using other equipment as necessary.Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions.Remove debris from loaded trailers.Secure cargo for transport.Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.Must abide by all safety rules.Exercise care of equipment completes the forklift truck pre-use inspection sheet daily at the start of the shift. Returns completed sheets to his supervisor and reports all damages to his direct supervisor.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Active Class C Driver's License and clean driving record.Experience backing trailers or trucks is required.One year of experience using Forklifts, Lift Trucks, and pallet jacks Forklift certification required.Maintain a clean and safe environment.Able to complete task assigned on a timely matter.Good communication skills.Bilingual English/Spanish highly desired.Must work overtime when required.Basic math skills, addition and subtraction.Ability to read and write English.Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk or hear.
