Learning Sciences Specialist, LearnWith.AI (Remote) - $200,000/year USD

CrossoverAtlanta, GAMay 24th, 2026
Many education tools mistake engagement for learning. They deliver experiences that feel interactive in real time but fail to consistently build deep understanding. Evidence from explicit instruction research and multimedia learning shows a more reliable path: students perform better when instruction is structured, direct, logically sequenced, and designed to minimize extraneous cognitive load.LearnWith.AI takes a more rigorous stance. Rather than treating instructional video as a content challenge, the team frames it as a learning-outcomes challenge. This position ensures that every math video upholds a stringent standard for direct instruction, sound pedagogy, and applied learning science—so that growth never undermines student comprehension. This role is designed for someone who can review a lesson and immediately identify whether the instructional sequence is genuinely effective. You must be capable of diagnosing issues in clarity, pacing, modeling, formative checks, and concept progression, then translating that analysis into specific, actionable written feedback. This is neither a general content review position, a creative production function, nor a curriculum role disconnected from evidence-based teaching. You will work at the heart of the product by defining the benchmark for strong instruction across the entire library. If you are committed to ensuring students truly understand math, and you seek a role where your judgment shapes work at scale, this position offers exceptional direct influence. What You Will Be DoingAssess math videos using direct instruction and learning science frameworks, delivering clear approval or rejection outcomes, specific feedback, and continuous insights that sharpen instructional quality standardsWhat You Won’t Be DoingGeneral content review - assessing non-instructional or non-video materials without grounding evaluation in learning science or direct instruction frameworksSubjective feedback - offering impressionistic commentary on content without reference to structured criteria or evidence-based principlesLearning Sciences Specialist Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the quality gatekeeper for learning-science-aligned direct instruction math videos that reliably produce strong student learning outcomesBasic RequirementsExperience teaching K–8 math or designing K–8 math instructional materials (e.g., lessons, units, practice sets, digital activities)Experience evaluating video-based instructional content and providing written feedbackExperience with Direct Instruction (DI) teachingFamiliarity with Cognitive Load Theory and Mayer's Multimedia PrinciplesCurrently based in the United StatesAbout LearnWith.AILearnWith.AI is an edtech startup that leverages AI and subject matter experts to cultivate a new way of learning.
