Job SummaryThe Security Guard is responsible for promoting and maintaining a secure campus environment. They provide for the safety and welfare of students, faculty, and staff on the campus by monitoring, maintaining, and enforcing the rules, regulations, and policies of the institution.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitors and Maintains Campus SafetySupports the Evening Manager On Duty for Evening ClassesProvides an escort for students, faculty, and staff upon requestConducts scheduled foot patrols of the institution's interiorConducts scheduled foot patrols of the building's exterior; including parking lots and less traveled areas of the campusEnforces institution rules, regulations, policies, and procedures about students, faculty, staff, and visitors while on school propertyPrepares written reports, such as daily logs and incident reports, relating to security and safety mattersMonitors and maintains security cameras and equipmentConducts Preventive Security MeasuresSupports campus monitoring of identification cards for students, faculty, and staffFollows Compliance Policy and ProcedureComplies with all State, Department of Education and accreditation regulationsAdheres to all company policies and proceduresExperience and Education RequiredHigh School or GED equivalent1 year of experience in law enforcement or a related fieldMust pass a background checkExperience and Education PreferredAssociate's Degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a similar field3 years of experience as a security guardPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
