Serving six counties—Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, Starke, and St. Joseph—the Food Bank collaborates with local communities to provide food assistance and raise awareness about hunger. As a proud member of Feeding America, Feeding Indiana's Hungry (FIsH), and United Way, the Food Bank leads programs aimed at alleviating food insecurity and fostering lasting change. Role Description The Programs and Volunteers Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in South Bend, IN. The individual in this position will oversee the daily management and development of programs designed to address hunger and community food needs. Responsibilities include coordinating and recruiting volunteers, managing volunteer programs, leading outreach initiatives, and facilitating partnerships with local organizations. The role also involves ensuring program compliance with relevant standards and fostering a safe and welcoming environment for volunteers and participants. Qualifications Experience in program management, volunteer coordination, and organizational leadershipStrong interpersonal and communication skills, including public speaking and outreachAbility to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively and efficientlyProficiency in event planning and team collaborationKnowledge of food insecurity issues and passion for community improvementProficiency in computer software applications, such as Microsoft OfficeA bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Communications, or a related field is preferredPrior experience in a nonprofit or community-focused organization is an assetFlexible availability and willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends
