Area of focus will include the use of psychoactive medications. • Apply specialized knowledge of the scientific and clinical use of medications; including medication action, dosing, adverse effects, and drug interactions. • Active role in the development and implementation of protocols and drug utilization. • Monitor medication administration / safety through performance indicator reviews and data presentations. Staff education: • Provide education to the nursing staff through in-services and education material. • Interdisciplinary relationships: Strives to develop a good working relationship with the medical and nursing staff in addition to other multidisciplinary departments by actively seeking out opportunities to improve patient care. • The practitioner routinely attends meetings, Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee and Medication Safety committee.
