X-Ray Technologist – Float Position Location: Houston, Texas Area Pay Rate: $29–$32/hour Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Job Type: Contract Opportunity with Stable Full-Time Hours A respected healthcare and research organization in the Houston area is seeking a dependable and patient-focused X-Ray Technologist to join its imaging team. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced technologists and recent graduates looking to grow their careers in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role offers a unique float opportunity across multiple outpatient and research locations throughout the Houston metro area. Technologists will be assigned to one site per day, with schedules communicated in advance to support work-life balance and planning. Key Responsibilities Perform high-quality diagnostic X-ray imaging procedures Position and monitor patients during imaging exams to ensure safety and comfort Administer prescribed doses of radiation in accordance with safety standards Maintain patient confidentiality and provide professional, compassionate care Ensure imaging equipment is functioning properly and safely Follow established radiation safety and infection control protocols Collaborate with clinical and research staff to support efficient workflow Maintain accurate imaging documentation and patient records as required Qualifications MRT License required ARRT Certification required Associate degree or technical degree from an accredited program required High School Diploma or GED required New graduates are encouraged to apply Epic EMR experience is a plus, but not required Strong communication skills and attention to detail Ability to adapt to different clinical and research environments Float Locations Candidates may be assigned to any of the following Houston-area locations: Bellaire Pearland Houston Medical Center area Sugar Land Central Houston research locations Assignments are communicated prior to the scheduled workday, and technologists remain at one assigned location for the full shift.
