About the role
We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and sustainment of a mission-focused enterprise web application deployed within a containerized Kubernetes Linux environment. The ideal candidate will collaborate with Product Owners, System Engineers, and Software Engineers to deliver scalable, reliable software solutions while supporting Agile development practices and modern DevOps methodologies.
What you'll do
Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise web applications supporting mission-critical operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver software capabilities.
Develop software solutions using Python in Linux environments.
Build and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
Create and manage Helm Charts for Kubernetes-based deployments.
Develop and integrate RESTful interfaces and APIs.
Support CI/CD pipelines, automation, and software delivery processes.
Troubleshoot software issues and support application sustainment activities.
Utilize source control and Agile development practices to support team workflows.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
One of the following education/experience combinations:
Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus 3+ years of Software Engineering experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
7+ years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Experience using Linux command-line tools and environments.
Experience developing automation scripts using Bash and Python.
Experience developing Python applications in Linux environments.
Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker.
Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration technologies.
Experience creating Helm Charts for Kubernetes deployments.
Experience with SQL technologies, including MySQL.
Experience designing and implementing REST interfaces.
Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI.
Experience using Git source control.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the Django Web Framework.
Experience with the Celery Task Scheduler.
Experience supporting web infrastructure using NGINX.
Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Jira and Confluence.
Experience with AI development tools, including Claude Code.
The pay range for this role is:
185,000 - 200,000 USD per year(Annapolis Junction, MD)
