We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Materials Scientist to join our team, assisting in reverse engineering and patent analysis projects that are central to our ongoing efforts. Position DescriptionWe are seeking a highly driven Materials Scientist who will support our team in the analysis of existing patents and reverse engineering of materials-based technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for materials science and intellectual property. You will gain hands-on experience in both research and the commercialization of innovative technologies, working alongside experienced professionals. Responsibilities· Assist in the reverse engineering of products and materials, analyzing device structures and properties to identify material compositions, manufacturing processes, and design considerations.· Support the analysis of patents, technical documents, and market trends to help identify technological gaps and opportunities.· Conduct laboratory testing and characterization of materials and devices to validate reverse-engineered properties.· Collaborate with senior engineers and scientists to prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations based on your findings. Qualifications· Bachelor's or higher degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field (or expected to graduate in 1 year).· Proficiency in structure-property relationships, material characterization techniques, and data interpretation.· Knowledge of display technologies, sensors, medical device, pharmaceutics, and/or semiconductors.· Knowledge of patent analysis, patent drafting, and the role of patents in technology development.· Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.· Excellent communication skills and comfortable with presentation.· Ability to take initiatives, manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.· Must be able to commute to company office and partner labs in Irvine.
