Teacher - Culinary Arts (ProStart)Do you have a passion for culinary arts and a desire to inspire the next generation of hospitality professionals? The Culinary Arts Program at Bollman is seeking a talented chef-educator to teach and mentor a diverse population of high school students interested in the hospitality, culinary, and tourism industries. This dynamic program provides students with hands-on instruction in both classroom and commercial kitchen settings. Courses cover a broad range of topics, including food science, safety and sanitation, culinary techniques, foodservice operations, and industry professionalism.We are seeking motivated applicants with prior experience in the hospitality and/or foodservice industry who can effectively model professional standards, industry practices, and workplace expectations while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. Position requires collaboration and communication with fellow instructors, administrative team, student's parents, and support staff to meet the learning needs of students. If the applicant does not currently hold Career and Technical (CTE) teaching authorization, the process to obtain that authorization involves verification of work experience and professional certifications or course work aligned with this industry instruction. Serve as an advisor for the program's Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), including student engagement in leadership activities, conferences, events, competitions, and required day and overnight supervision responsibilities.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activitiesCreate positive educational climate for students to learn inMeet course and school-wide student performance goalsParticipate in ongoing training sessionsCreate lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the yearGrade papers and perform other administrative duties as neededRead and stay abreast of current topics in educationUtilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learningIntegrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plansUtilize District curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students servedEstablish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activitiesPrepare and distribute parent communicationsObserve and evaluate student's performanceManage student behavior in the classroom creating appropriate behavior strategiesEducation and related work experience required:Bachelor's degree or higherMust be a minimum of 18 years oldLicenses, registrations or certifications:Criminal background check required for hireMust possess, or be able to obtain from, or be in process with, the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) for a valid Colorado Educator License within 30 days of hireMust possess the required license and endorsementIf highly qualified by content test or semester hours, with no endorsement: applicant must posses a Colorado educator license license with a passing score on a CDE approved content test or 24 semester hours in specific core content classes as determined by Human ResourcesPreference given to candidates with ELL Training and/or an ESL or (LDE) Linguistically Diverse Education EndorsementSalary information is dependent on the employees' education and/or work experience.
