Senior Backend Developer - Node JS

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable backend applications and services.Develop backend APIs and microservices using Node.js, Express.js, Java, and JavaScript.Build and maintain cloud-native services using AWS Lambda and serverless technologies.Develop and support applications deployed using Kubernetes and Docker.Design and implement scalable REST APIs and microservice architectures.Work with Product Development, UX, QA, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.Collaborate with clients and third-party vendors to understand requirements and define technical solutions.Troubleshoot and resolve complex application, infrastructure, and production issues.Participate in architecture and design discussions and help define long-term technical solutions.Review peer code and designs while providing technical guidance and mentorship.Develop automated tests and improve overall testing and engineering practices.Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog activities.Help establish and improve technical processes, development standards, and engineering best practices.Work with CI/CD pipelines to automate application build, testing, and deployment processes.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.8+ years of hands-on software development experience.8+ years of Java development experience.4+ years of backend JavaScript / Node.js development experience.Strong experience with Node.js, Express.js, and REST API development.Experience developing microservice-based web applications.Experience with eCommerce platforms and/or high-volume transactional systems.4+ years of relational database design and data modeling experience.Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.Strong understanding of object-oriented, functional, and prototype-based programming concepts.Strong knowledge of software design patterns and development best practices.Experience designing reliable, maintainable, readable, scalable, and testable software.Strong understanding of application performance, security, networking, databases, and server technologies.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Experience working with large data sets.Experience with CI/CD pipelines, such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins.Experience building and deploying Docker images.Preferred QualificationsAdvanced knowledge of Node.js and Serverless architecture.Strong REST API design and development experience.Hands-on experience with microservices architecture.Experience with AWS Lambda.Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications.Knowledge of Ruby on Rails.Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals, including: Scope, Closures, Event Loop & Asynchronous callbacksPromises / asynchronous programmingExperience building distributed, service-oriented, and cloud-native architectures.Experience with application containerization and orchestration.
