As our operations continue to grow, we are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and safety-conscious *Loader* to support daily freight handling, loading, unloading, and shipment preparation activities. Position Overview The *Loader* plays an important role in keeping freight moving safely, accurately, and efficiently through our operations. This position is responsible for loading and unloading trucks and trailers, staging freight for shipment, moving materials within designated work areas, and ensuring cargo is handled according to company procedures. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically capable, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment. Previous warehouse or freight-handling experience is helpful, but we are willing to train dependable candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Key Responsibilities * Load and unload freight, pallets, packages, and other materials from trucks and trailers * Move freight safely between receiving, staging, storage, and loading areas * Prepare and stage outgoing shipments according to schedules and loading instructions * Verify freight labels, quantities, destinations, and shipment information before loading * Organize and position freight to support safe transportation and efficient use of trailer space * Assist with receiving incoming shipments and placing freight in designated areas * Inspect freight and packaging for visible damage or irregularities * Report damaged, missing, or incorrectly labeled freight to the appropriate team member * Use pallet jacks, hand trucks, carts, and other material-handling equipment as needed * Assist with securing and stabilizing freight to help prevent movement or damage during transportation * Follow shipping documents, work orders, loading instructions, and established procedures * Coordinate with drivers and other team members to support timely loading and departures * Maintain clean, organized, and safe loading, staging, and work areas * Follow company safety procedures and proper material-handling practices * Assist with general freight, warehouse, and operational duties as assigned Qualifications * Previous experience in loading, unloading, warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, or freight handling is preferred but not required * Ability to perform physically active work throughout the shift * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately * Dependable attendance and punctuality * Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team * Basic ability to read shipping labels, work orders, and freight documentation * Comfortable working around trucks, trailers, loading areas, and material-handling equipment * Willingness to learn company procedures and safe freight-handling practices * Strong commitment to workplace safety and responsible cargo handling Physical Requirements * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods * Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, carry, and perform repetitive physical tasks * Ability to safely lift and move packages, freight, and materials * Ability to work in an active transportation and freight-handling environment What We Offer * Stable opportunity with a growing transportation and logistics company * Hands-on training and support * Team-oriented work environment * Opportunity to develop experience in freight and logistics operations * Consistent, hands-on work supporting daily transportation activities * Opportunities for additional responsibilities and professional growth Join Our Team At *Johnson Freight Carriers LLC*, safe and reliable transportation starts with proper freight handling.
