Today, we bring that same collaborative, all-hands approach to help our U.S. and international clients address challenges with unique, comprehensive, and results-oriented strategies.We are seeking a director to join our Media Intelligence practice in Oregon or Washington State. This position is an integral part of our team ensuring BSG’s client guarantee of round-the- clock monitoring service.This role requires demonstrated experience writing, analyzing, and presenting information from a conservative policy or communications perspective. The Director will support clients operating within conservative political, public policy, and advocacy environments.Media Intelligence Director are trained on the job by best-in-class mentors who teach monitoring best practices and how to produce clear, actionable analysis. This role will be fully remote after training Monday through Friday.Location: Portland, OR | Seattle, WASchedule: Monday–Friday | Core Hours: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM PT This role aligns with core team coverage hours (anticipated 3:00 - 11:00PM ET) and requires flexibility outside standard hours to address breaking news, urgent client needs, and team escalations. QualificationsThe ideal Director demonstrate strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to oversee workflow, ensure quality control, and handle complex or time-sensitive client needs. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable, they thrive under pressure and are available as needed beyond standard hours. An insatiable curiosity, unbiased perspective, and strong interest in current events and politics are essential, along with a commitment to mentoring associates and driving operational excellence.Key Areas of ResponsibilityContinuously monitor all relevant forms of media — including print, broadcast, social, and online news — for breaking developments.Alert clients in real-time to new developments using BSG’s proprietary Dashboard system.Compile news items into curated collections for distribution to clients and internal stakeholders.Draft and assist in the preparation of analytical reports and written briefings tailored to conservative audiences.Support back-end data management and internal systemsIdentify recurring operational challenges or inefficiencies and proactively propose solutions or process improvements.Support onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching of associates, ensuring consistent understanding of tools, best practices, and client expectations.Communicate clearly and regularly with senior leadership regarding team performance, risks, emerging issues, and resourcing needs.Requirements Demonstrated experience writing and presenting information from a conservative political or policy perspective.3-5 years of relevant experienceAn undergraduate degree or comparable work experience is required. Majors in policy, government, business, political science, and economics are especially encouraged to apply.Professional demeanor, good knowledge of the national political and media environmentProfessional experience in a political or news-oriented fieldExperience with monitoring and/or analyzing world news and current affairs.Experience using media monitoring tools such as Tweetdeck/XPro, TV Eyes/Critical Mention, Meltwater etc.Experience with internet research tools (Google News, public records, government databases).Ability to efficiently manage varied time constraints while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness.Application InstructionsTo apply for the position, please email a cover letter and resume to with subject line “Media Intelligence Director - OR/WA.”Learn more about our people, culture, and benefits by visiting website.
