In this role, you will file surplus line taxes, reconcile transactions, and assist producers and account managers with tax rates, affidavits, and state filings.ResponsibilitiesFiling Surplus line taxes and review of client balances over 45 days are a conglomerate of legal, accounting, and public relations knowledgeReconciliation of Surplus Lines Tax Transactions Knowledge of required documents needed for filing and client records Work with diverse personalities and build relationships with Producers, Account Managers, State Insurance Regulators, Stamping Offices Assist Producers and Account Managers - Tax rates, Affidavits, Home State designation Submit required documents to states to facilitate timely filings Assist in the development and maintenance of surplus lines processes and procedures Assist in reading and interpreting state surplus lines related to administrative code Assist in review of debits and credits over 45 days QualificationsTwo years’ work experience in the insurance industry-preferable High School diploma is required, Bachelor’s degree is preferredPrefer experience with Applied Systems (EPIC) Soft skills (i.e. problem solver, team player, proactive, entrepreneurial) Strong desire to learn and foster a community of compliance Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities independently Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and positive attitude Very strong detail skills Department Accounting & FinanceRequired Experience: 1-2 years of relevant experienceRequired Travel: NegligibleRequired Education: High school or equivalentHUB International Limited is an equal opportunity employer that does not discriminate on the basis of race/ethnicity, national origin, religion, age, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or veteran's status, or any other characteristic protected by local, state or federal laws, rules or regulations.E-Verify ProgramWe endeavor to make this website accessible to any and all users.
