CPI AdamWorks in Centennial, Colorado, has a need for an entry-level Buyer to join our staff. We design and build composite structures for aircraft, defense, and space and would love you to consider joining our team! The Buyer is responsible for quoting, negotiating pricing and purchasing inventory and materials in support of CPI needs. Works with close supervision. Who We Are: CPI AdamWorks is a division of CPI Radant Technologies Division. They are located in Centennial, Colorado. Together, we are the radome-and-composite-structures division of Communications & Power Industries LLC (CPI). We are formally known as CPI Radant Technologies Division, and we serve the aerospace, defense, naval, and commercial industries by designing, manufacturing, testing and supporting advanced composite radomes, reflectors and structural composite products. What We Do: Radomes are special "domes" made of composite materials that protect antennas and radar systems from the environment while allowing electromagnetic signals to pass. CPI Radant produces these for critical applications, meaning:They enable secure communications and radar/electronic-warfare capabilities for military and commercial aerospace platforms.Their manufacturing includes large apertures and high-frequency performance.Their advances in composite manufacturing and large structures feed into modern aircraft, satellites, naval vessels, etc. RESPONSIBILITIESPrimary Liaison between CPI and our suppliersCreates and maintains purchase ordersPulls all documentation and sends out quote requests to suppliersEvaluates supplier quotes and awards accordinglyWorks with Planning to disposition Excess and Obsolete materialAssists Accounts Payables to resolve invoice discrepanciesEscalates supplier related issues in a prompt mannerHelps resolve issues and answer questions from other CPI employeesPerforms other tasks and duties as required$25.00 - $30.00 per hour REQUIRED SKILLSWorking experience with ERP and/or MRP systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Microsoft Excel requiredWorking knowledge of item attributes and their effects on MRP messagesAbility to present possible solutions when notifying management of an issueExcellent organizational skillsIn-depth knowledge/understanding of Government contractor purchasing requirementsMust possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of the organizationAbility to build and maintain positive working relationships EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or equivalent is requiredAssociate or bachelor's degree and/or APICS certification a plus2 to 4 years' experience as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSSedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standingAbility to work seated at a computer for long periods of timeAbility to go onto the shop floor and other departments as needed This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). aThe successful candidate must be a "U.S. Person as defined under ITAR and EAR.
