Job DescriptionOur client, a major bank, is looking to hire a Shared Services Controller in New York CityPay Rate Range: Paying 56-63/hr W2Responsibilities:Position SummaryThe Shared Services Controller leads financial reporting, close management, accounting governance, and finance operations for the shared services legal entity. This role oversees financial reporting, process improvements, systems initiatives, and internal controls while partnering with Finance leadership, business units, IT, and auditors to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.Requirements10+ years of accounting experienceBachelor's or Master's degree in AccountingCPA preferredFinancial services industry experienceKey ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & CloseLead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.Manage a team of two supporting month-end close.Review financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.Oversee accruals, allocations, intercompany activity, and journal entries.Perform financial analysis, variance reviews, and management reporting.Finance OperationsOversee intercompany accounting, cost allocations, and balance sheet reconciliations.Partner with FP&A, Tax, AP, Product Control, and other finance teams to resolve accounting issues.Standardize processes and improve operational efficiency.Process ImprovementLead finance transformation and automation initiatives.Support ERP, reporting system, and process enhancements.Improve controls, data integrity, and reporting efficiency.Requirements:QualificationsStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reportingExperience with intercompany accounting, allocations, reconciliations, and internal controls (SOX)Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skillsProficiency with SAP, OneStream, Hyperion, and advanced ExcelPreferred Accounting ExperienceASC 360, ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 850Fixed assets, prepaid expenses, depreciation, amortizationIntercompany accounting and cost allocationsBalance sheet reconciliations and financial analysisRussell Tobin offers eligible employee’s comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance and employee discounts with preferred vendors.Equal Employment OpportunityRussell Tobin is an equal opportunity employer.
