Video Ninja: part-time videographer
About the Role
Fence Brothers is Whatcom County’s go-to cedar and wood fencing contractor. We’re building a content library that shows the craftsmanship behind every project, and we need a part‑time videographer to help us tell that story. You’ll capture job‑site footage, customer testimonials, and the team in action — content that lives on our website, YouTube, and social media and turns viewers into customers.
Our Core Values
Craftsmanship — We take pride in doing things right. Your shots should feel intentional, not rushed — quality over quantity every time.
Ownership — You manage your own schedule, files, and deadlines. We give you the brief; you own the outcome.
Relationship — Our business runs on trust. You’ll be on job sites with crews and customers — strong people skills matter.
Efficiency — We move fast on projects. Footage and edits should turn around quickly so content can be published while it’s fresh.
What You’ll Do
Turn raw cedar and muddy yards into before/after content so satisfying it’ll make people cry (we're not exaggerating — fences hit different)
Get out to job sites across Whatcom County and find the shot nobody else would think to take — the grain in the wood, the gate swing, the crew moment that feels like a movie
Own short‑form vertical for Instagram Reels and TikTok and long‑form landscape for YouTube and the website — you're not a one‑format person and neither are we
Interview real homeowners who just got the fence of their dreams and make them sound like they're on HGTV
Edit, caption, add a banger track, and ship it!
Use AI (yes we provide Claude for you) like it's your co‑producer — scripting, planning, captions, auto‑cut, scheduling, whatever gets content out the door faster without sacrificing the vision
Coordinate with our field crews and sales team so you're always in the right place at the right time (the magic happens on‑site, not in your bedroom)
What We’re Looking For
A portfolio or sample reel — even informal work shot on your phone is fine if it shows your eye
Comfortable on active job sites (boots recommended)
Reliable vehicle and ability to travel to project locations in Whatcom County
Basic editing skills in any platform (CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci — your call)
Responsive communicator who respects schedules and delivers what they promise
Compensation & Schedule
Starting at Washington State minimum wage. Flexible, project‑based hours — typically 5–15 hours per week, depending on the project pipeline. This is a great fit for a student, freelancer building their reel, or anyone looking for consistent part‑time creative work with a growing local business.
Growth Opportunities
We train leaders in business. Help us grow by bringing your creative ideas to life. You’ll have opportunity to grow into full‑time role, or future marketing, and sales leadership positions by helping drive business as our killer video ninja candidate.
