Infrastructure EngineerThe Senior Systems Engineer will bring knowledge, experience and a senior mentality to an Infrastructure group which is primarily responsible for technical project work as well as overseeing day-to-day operations of IT Infrastructure including VMs built in Azure. The successful applicant is an eager, self-motivated team player who consistently sets a positive example for the team when approaching projects, server maintenance, security, engineering IT solutions, as well as the configuration and installation of the company's infrastructure systems. They will lean on automation for routine tasks and resource provisioning needs. The Senior Systems Engineer will bring drive and passion for excellent customer service, attention to detail, and determination for business continuity and will be involved in supporting the core infrastructure and systems that are critical to business operations.These systems will include, but are not limited to, Cloud VMs, virtual infrastructure, physical server infrastructure, storage arrays, Active Directory, Windows Server, and Linux.This position will also often work with other teams, both technical and non-technical to analyze their needs and determine how to design and implement systems, requiring multiple and complex cloud and/or on-premises environments, and developing capabilities between these solutions. This position must be able to coordinate efforts between co-workers, as well as present ideas and results to all levels of management.Principal ResponsibilitiesImplement, and help maintain systems such as Azure VMs, VMware ESXi 6.X and 7.X, VMware Horizon, Pure Storage, Linux, LogicMonitor Monitoring, Patch Management.Design and deploy Windows/Linux environments both on-premises and on cloud platforms like Azure and GCP and continually work to improve security and uptime.Develop and maintain system performance monitoring and alerting technologies, troubleshoot performance and availability issues, and manage escalations as necessary.Manage enterprise Active Directory services.Develop strategies for system efficiency, growth analysis, right-sizing of compute resources, and application tuning.Ensure service contracts and support contracts are kept up to dateParticipate in the on-call rotation and address unplanned issues as required.Required QualificationsAssociate/Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.10 or more years of experience in a similar environment.Have a natural inclination towards automationStrong documentation skills and ability to work in fast paced environments.Ability to assist internal and external customers in a personable and professional manner.Preferred QualificationsExperience with various scripting methodologies (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc..) and systems automation processes.Previous experience designing/implementing Active Directory.Strong knowledge of Windows Server.Linux experience is a plus.Experience working in a highly virtualized environment - VMware.Detailed knowledge of: DNS, DHCP, LDAP, fiber channel.Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to explain complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.Knowledge of databases and SQL/Oracle is a plus.Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.Possess an exceptional attention to detail, with a concern for ensuring accuracy, and quality of work.Understanding of IT approval processes for all work related to business-impacting changes.
