Richard Construction Inc. (RCI) is currently seeking experienced Industrial Journeyman Blasters.Position SummaryAn Industrial Journeyman Blaster will prepare surfaces of equipment, piping, and structures for protection and cosmetic purposes in RCI's Paint Shop or across a construction site.RCI has various levels of Blasters based on experience and skills ranked as follows:Blaster I: Abrades surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart a specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment. Must be able to manage SSPC surface preparation standards on abraded surfaces to SSPC quality standards of comparison. Must have 3+ years experience.Blaster II: Same as "Blaster I" but with 90% ability or greater. Must have 2+ years experience.Blaster III: Same as "Blaster I" but with 85% ability or greater. Less than a 2 years of experience.Qualification Highlights:Must be able to read blueprints, sketches, drawings, or building plansMust possess all knowledge skills and abilities for position - see belowMust be willing to assist other crafts while not actively working on a blasting/painting projectMust be able to meet all physical requirementsMust be willing to follow all safety rules and regulationsMust have all required toolsMust be able to regularly and reliably show up at the assigned job siteMust meet all safety and security requirements at the assigned job sitePosition Responsibilities:Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work: locations in space (coordinates), quantities, and sizes of materials requiredIdentify all tools required for tasksIdentify safety risks and precautions required to eliminate those risksMeasure, mark, and cut required wooden/metallic materials to required specificationsIdentify and manage different blast media as requiredMust be able to work at heights from ladders or scaffolds safely, using appropriate fall protectionClean up work areasMust be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional job duties while not performing primary craft duties (be a Team player)Required Qualifications:Must be able to read blueprints, plans, and drawings proficiently to perform dutiesMust have knowledge on materials, tools, and processes involved with basic painting techniques and knowledge of paint qualitiesMust be able to identify the relationship of paint or coating specified for use to the materials being painted and the technique, mixture, and number of coatings requiredMust have reliable transportationMust be able to work full work schedule and any additional overtime with little or no notificationMust be willing to assist other crafts and perform additional duties while not performing primary craft dutiesMust be willing to work safely and follow all safety rules and regulationsMust follow all company and site rules and regulationsMust have required toolsAbility to work with others - Team playerGood communication skills with co-workers and supervisorsCommitment to Richard values, safety rules, and regulationsPreferred Qualifications:Richard Construction Inc.
