What are the primary responsibilities in the Sr. Software Engineer position? Responsible for the research, design, and development of computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development.Primarily responsible for the design and development of software products for a variety of software applications.Participates in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test of software products.Applies computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application.Works closely with cross-functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system.Develops software test procedures, software programs, and related documentation.Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes and approaches.Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results. What required background will make you successful? BS or MS in Computer Science or related fieldExpert level C and/or C++ developer Expert in software design principles including industry best practices and design trendsExpert level Linux developer (distributed, multithreaded, high performance, and low level)Expert level experience with additional high-level languages (Python, Shell Scripting, etc.)Experience with Git or other revision control systemsExcellent communicator of software and algorithm designs, complexity analysis, and performance metrics in written and oral reportsAbility to quickly grasp and come up-to-speed with large software code basesEffectively delegates and specifies technical scope to junior personnelProven track record of effective communication with customersAbility to lead teams of 2-3 multidisciplinary engineers/scientistsDemonstrated experience in participating as a technical contributor to business captureAbility to serve as technical advisor to Program Managers regarding work estimation, staff assignments, and program executionAbility to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearanceUS CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED Preferred skills: Experience with DSP or communication theoryExperience with software support of FPGA centric hardware designsSignificant experience with math intensive software development (DSP, numerical methods, AI/ML, graphics) Where is the position located? This position is located at our Centennial, CO office.The likely salary range for this position is $174,000 to $213,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
