As we scale toward $10M+ in annual revenue, our Architectural Designer will play a critical role in raising the bar on design standards and ensuring our projects are not only beautiful but also buildable.We work as one team-design, sales, estimating, and production-driven by values of Trust, Craftsmanship, Impact, Elevation, and Exceptionality.Learn more at www.hhi-builders.comKey ResponsibilitiesClient & Team CollaborationParticipate in redline meetings and early-phase client meetings where structural guidance is needed.Coordinate closely with the Project Director and Interior Designer to align design vision with execution and budget.Engineering & Survey CoordinationSchedule structural engineering walkthroughs and integrate feedback into construction documents.Coordinate exterior site surveys and interior Lidar/Matterport scans; verify all measurements for as-built accuracy.Construction Document ManagementProduce accurate, permit-ready construction drawings using Chief Architect, Revit, AutoCAD, or SketchUp.Ensure all plans are clear, code-compliant, and ready for field execution.Oversee and review work completed by the Drafter for accuracy and completeness.Deliver drawing sets on schedule according to established design phase timelines.Software & Technical OversightLeverage 3D modeling and visualization tools to support design clarity and client approvals.Provide software guidance and direction to the Drafter, ensuring team efficiency and drawing accuracy.Documentation StandardsMaintain drawing consistency, project documentation standards, and adherence to permitting requirements.Anticipate construction conflicts and ensure documents are fully buildable before field handoff.QualificationsEducationRequired: Associate's degree in Architecture, Drafting/Design, or a related fieldPreferred: Bachelor's degree in Architecture or DesignExperience4-5+ years of experience in residential design, drafting, or architectural documentationStrong background in preparing permit-ready construction drawings, particularly for remodels and custom homesSkills & AbilitiesProficiency in Chief Architect, Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUpDeep knowledge of residential construction practices, codes, and permit processesStrong coordination skills across internal teams, engineers, and surveyorsHigh attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies or potential field issuesClear and professional written and verbal communicationTop 5 ResponsibilitiesConstruction Drawing ProductionCreate complete permit-ready drawing sets that are accurate, buildable, and field-usable.Structural CoordinationManage structural engineering input and ensure seamless integration into drawing sets.Survey & As-Built VerificationCoordinate Lidar and survey services, verifying all measurements to ensure plan accuracy before redlines.Cross-Team CollaborationWork closely with Project Directors, Interior Designers, and Estimators to align layout, scope, and budget.3D Visualization & Software LeadershipUse 3D tools to support design clarity; oversee Drafter output and software workflows.BenefitsWeekly Pay CyclePerformance BonusesPaid Time Off (Vacation, Sick, Holidays)Paid Training & CertificationsTech Package (Smartphone or Tablet)Personal Tool Replacement ProgramCompany Events & Team OutingsEmployee Recognition and ContestsReferral Bonus ProgramProfit Sharing/Ownership Track PotentialScheduleFull-Time, Monday-FridayWork LocationOnsite in the Hilton Head/Bluffton areaOccasional travel to job sites for field verification and coordination (within 50 miles)Equal Employment OpportunityWe are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
