Pilot Plant Operations TechnicianThe Pilot Plant Operations Technician supports the construction, operation, and maintenance of small-scale chemical and petroleum processes. This role involves hands-on work with mechanical and electrical systems, assisting in pilot plant operations, and ensuring accurate documentation and safe work practices.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in building, operating, and maintaining chemical pilot plant processesWork with piping, tubing, and AC/DC-powered instruments and equipmentSupport operation of complex chemical and petroleum processes at a pilot scalePerform analytical testing, including gas chromatographyMaintain and clean work areas; manage parts and equipment inventoryCreate requisitions and track materials using internal systems (e.g., PMS)Document operations, data, and logbooks; communicate updates across shiftsAssist with welding, cutting, wiring, and equipment installationInstall and remove insulation as neededMaintain equipment and vehiclesDeliver materials and packages across the siteIdentify and help implement process improvementsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 2+ years of relevant hands-on experienceExperience working with mechanical and electrical systemsProficient with hand tools and power toolsBasic computer skills (Microsoft Excel and Word)Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPreferred:Experience with chemical processes (e.g., distillation)Familiarity with pilot plant or refinery operationsWork ScheduleMonday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PMMust be flexible to support 24/7 shift operationsOvertime may be requiredPhysical & Work Environment RequirementsWork performed in plant, lab, and high-bay environmentsFrequent standing, walking, climbing stairs and laddersWork may be indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsLarge worksite (1,500-acre facility); walking between locations requiredAbility to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted; over 50 lbs with assistanceMust wear steel-toe bootsDress code: collared shirt and jeansMust have a valid driver's license and pass MVR checkPosition is classified as safety-sensitiveJoin the Cross Resource Group Team!At Cross Resource Group, we value our employees and are dedicated to providing a rewarding and inclusive work environment.
