Estimator

We are hiring an Estimator to lead estimating efforts for public works and underground utility projects across Southern California. This is a senior leadership role for someone who can take full ownership of the number - from initial plan review through final bid submission - and play a key role in driving competitive success in the public sector.Our work includes complex infrastructure projects such as sewer, storm drain, waterline, and utility systems. This role requires both technical depth and strategic thinking, with direct impact on win rate, pricing strategy, and overall business growth.What You'll OwnLead estimating for public works projects including underground utilities, storm drains, water systems, and conduitOwn the full bid process from scope review through final submissionPerform quantity takeoffs and manage subcontractor and vendor pricingAnalyze plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to develop accurate, competitive estimatesEvaluate risk, build contingencies, and identify value engineering opportunitiesCoordinate with project management and field teams during bid handoffTrack bid results, market pricing, and win/loss trends to refine estimating strategyMentor and support junior estimators as the team growsRequirements8+ years of civil construction estimating experience3-5+ years in a senior or lead estimating roleStrong background in underground utilities and public works projectsProven success winning public agency bids (municipal, county, or utility districts)Strong ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and geotechnical reportsExperience with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Sage/Timberline, or similarKnowledge of California prevailing wage and public contracting requirementsDetail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-volume bidsBenefitsCompetitive base salary based on experienceStable backlog of public works projectsLeadership role with direct influence on bid strategy and company growthEstablished, financially strong organization with long-term client relationshipsCollaborative environment with access to leadership and decision-making
