Job OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in C/C++ development across Unix platforms to support mission‑critical aerospace programs. This position is 100% onsite in Everett, Washington and requires close collaboration with engineering, systems, and hardware teams in a highly regulated, export‑controlled environment.The role involves working on legacy and modernized systems, platform migrations, and software solutions that interface closely with hardware and CAD‑driven environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain software applications using C and C++ across native Unix platformsWork closely with hardware and systems teams to ensure software/hardware compatibilitySupport and execute platform migrations, including Solaris to Unix/Linux application transitionsDevelop and maintain Unix scripts and perform Unix admin‑level programming using Perl and/or PythonParticipate in system integration, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysisSupport applications interacting with CAD (Computer‑Aided Design) toolsWork with relational databases for data persistence and processingMaintain and manage code using industry‑standard configuration and version control toolsContribute to technical documentation, design artifacts, and project reportsCollaborate with cross‑functional teams while adhering to program, quality, and compliance standardsRequired Qualifications5–8 years of professional experience in software developmentStrong hands‑on development experience with C and C++Experience working on Unix‑based platforms, including legacy and modern environmentsSolid understanding of software and hardware integrationExperience with Solaris, Linux (Oracle 8+, Red Hat 6/7), and Windows operating systemsProficiency in Unix scripting and administration using Perl and/or PythonExperience with relational databases such as:SQL ServerOracleTeradataExperience using configuration control tools, including:GitVisual SourceSafeClearCaseSCCSFamiliarity with project management and ALM tools such as:Team Foundation Server (TFS)Quality CenterStrong documentation skills using Microsoft Word, Visio, and PowerPointPreferred QualificationsExperience developing solutions in Java or other modern programming languagesExperience developing web‑based applicationsExposure to aerospace/defense or other highly regulated industriesExperience working in onsite customer environmentsFamiliarity with CAD‑driven engineering workflowsITAR / Export Control RequirementThis position requires access to information that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).All applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR, which includes:U.S. CitizensU.S. Permanent Residents (Green Card holders)Political Asylees or RefugeesApplicants who do not meet ITAR eligibility requirements cannot be considered.Work LocationOnsite only at customer facility in Everett, WARemote or hybrid work is not permitted due to program and security requirements Pay and BenefitsPay Range Minimum: $ 92000 per yearPay Range Maximum: $ 141000 per yearHCLTech is an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees regardless of race, religion, sex, color, age, national origin, pregnancy, sexual orientation, physical disability or genetic information, military or veteran status, or any other protected classification, in accordance with federal, state, and/or local law.
