Senior Accountant

DescriptionPosition Mission:To ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting and accounting functions—supporting sound business decisions and compliance with financial standards and regulations.OverviewIntermountain Home Services is hiring a Senior Accountant to oversee core accounting processes and play a key role in monthly financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis. As a senior member of the accounting team, you’ll provide expertise and consistency in executing day-to-day accounting functions, while identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset who wants to contribute to a growing, values-driven organization.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accountsReconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and balance sheet itemsSupport month-end and year-end close, including financial reporting packagesMaintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation entriesCoordinate with outside tax advisors and auditorsMonitor compliance with internal controls and accounting policiesCollaborate with departments to ensure timely and accurate financial entriesRecommend improvements to accounting processes and systemsLeadership & AccountabilityServe as a leader to peers, helping drive a culture of ownership, accountability, continuous improvement, and high-level executionHold team members and business partners accountable for meeting deadlines and fulfilling responsibilities Proactively follow up and push for completion of deliverables across departments Demonstrate the ability to push back constructively on leadership when needed, using data and sound judgment Core CompetenciesTechnical Skill: Deep understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, and financial reportingAccuracy: Highly detail-oriented and committed to error-free workTime Management: Manages recurring deadlines and projects with disciplineProblem Solving: Identifies discrepancies and investigates root causesCommunication: Explains financial data clearly and collaborates across departmentsConfidentiality: Handles sensitive financial and payroll information with discretionRequirementsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance4+ years of experience in general accounting (public or private sector)Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal controlsProficient in Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar)Ability to pass a background check and drug screeningWhy You Should Work With UsOne Team.
